Tottenham Hotspur’s UEFA Europa League opponents have been confirmed. Ange Postecoglou’s side will face a tricky set of fixtures following the draw in Monaco on Friday. Spurs are back in the competition for the first time since the 2020/21 season when they were surprisingly eliminated by Dinamo Zagreb in the last 16 after a 3-0 second-leg loss in Croatia.

The full schedule will be released on Saturday, but Tottenham know they will face Roma (h), Rangers (a), AZ Alkmaar (h), Ferencvaros (a), Qarabag (h), Galatasaray (a), Elfsborg (h), and Hoffenheim (a). This year’s competition has adopted a new format, with 36 teams in one group playing eight different opponents to reach the knockout phase. The round of 16 will feature an extra play-off round, with the top eight teams qualifying directly.

In previous years, draws were decided manually, but this year, artificial intelligence software randomly drew the matches. Tottenham and Manchester United were both in pot one and therefore could not face each other at this stage. The group stage will kick off on September 25/26, with the final set to take place at Stadio de San Mamés in Bilbao, Spain, on 21 May 2025.

Key dates for the competition include:
– Knockout round play-offs: 13 & 20 February 2025
– Round of 16: 6 & 13 March 2025
– Quarter-finals: 10 & 17 April 2025
– Semi-finals: 1 & 8 May 2025
– Final: 21 May 2025
